To write $y'(x)=x$, one way is diff(y(x),x)=x and another is D(y)(x)=x. To write $y''(x)=x$, one way is diff(y(x),x$2)=x and another is (D@@2)(y)(x)=x.

To convert from one form to another use convert(eq,diff) or convert(eq,D)
