9.17.3 Can you answer these questions?

9.17.3.1 Side margins right and left are not equal
9.17.3.2 Add a vertical line centered inside a framebox
9.17.3.3 bib references appear ending with a comma

Please look at my MWE. I would expect odd and even side margins being the same but they are not. What I am doing that is wrong? 
(I added most of my preamble just in case it matters...)

I would like to have a vertical line inside my framebox. So my framebox should be divided into two equal halves. I haven't found anything about it in the forum yet. Here is a code snippet.

I'm citing these references from Google Scholar, but why is the format wrong, ending with a comma instead of a period, does anyone know how to fix it?
