I would like a command \egreg which produces 'egreg'. However, there is no reason to limit yourself to one 'reg'. Who knows, maybe one day you just feel like writing 'egregregregreg" for some ...

to introduce a unique operator in my document. I basically want it to look like this: a^\214\234Aa^\214\235, where A is just an arbitrary statement. So 'a^\214\234a^\214\235' is the operator.

But the fonts of #1 in \[ \smoothmin{P,0}_{i=0,\dots,n} \] 
differ from ...
