To "comment out" a line, I need to insert a % at the beginning of the line (so that the line will not be compiled). 
Is there a way to comment out a large section without having to manually ...

How can you get the argmin or argmax in Latex? Two solutions I found are: 
\underset{x}{\operatorname{argmax}} 
\DeclareMathOperator*{\argmin}{arg\,min} 
Any other ideas?

No matter how I try to do it I always get the following error :
